DAY 66: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2019: A DAY FILLED WITH ERRANDS ENDING IN A BEAUTIFUL TRADITION

4:30 am up and heading to the gym. I haven’t been in days. Running felt so good, then a rowing class with
Weights. Gina gave us these adorable Christmas dishes filled with pistachios and chocolate covered coffee beans, to put us to sleep and wake us up. So cute.

REINDEER MERRY

Great morning so far. At 9 Tom and I were at the  dentist for our 6 month check up. Yeah, that is done. Coffee time. We needed that.
Next, time to bring dad grocery shopping and pick up what I need for our pot luck on Thursday. I dropped Tom off at home. We will see him again for lunch.

A few stops with dad in the car, a little Bristol down memory lane trip on the East and West sides of Town bringing the extra shell napkin rings to those who wanted more. I’m so happy I made those. More stops for dad‘s errands, then to Laurens where Tom met us for lunch.

I made a gluten free cake for Tom‘s birthday tomorrow. We will also have a cake from Continental bakery— a taste test for us. We have been doing this for family birthdays, trying new places. The best two to date are: Vienna and the pub in East Providence.

At 6:30 we went to Portsmouth High for Maddy‘s incredible Christmas concert.
On the way, we got to talk to Joan and Gordon. Cold front blow through the Keys tonight. I sent them Chip’s forecast.
The chorus, the performance combined chorus (boys and girls) and the full orchestra played holiday tunes and others. One of my favorites was the version of Oh, Say Can You See which absolutely moving. It had hints of the Star Spangled Banner with a variety of Patriot Songs— so so moving.

HERE COMES SANTA— HE REALLY CAME. MURIEL GOT A CANDY CANE

MADDY

The combination of traditional songs and renditions of others was a wonderful way to truly get into the holiday spirit.
At the end of the event, the chorus and orchestra played together. What a group! Then former and present students were invited to sing with the chorus.
The entire performance was wonderful.

THE COMBINATION GROUP

This is the seniors last holiday performance. So, emotional. The seniors gave some gives and tod some stories — very entertaining.

We are so happy we went. Lots of hugs with Muriel, Morgan, and Maddy, so proud of these girls. And, we get to see them again tomorrow when we celebrate Grandpa‘s birthday!
