DAY 157: MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2020: EARLY DINNER WITH MARGARET AND BOB

At 6:30, I awoke to run, then the fitness center.  I had planned to go to the water exercise class at 9 but the instructor didn't show. What?? Another 2 women showed for class, but no leader. Debbie called Toni, the activities director, and told her. She said the instructor broke her toe and would not be coming. Well, isn't that special. I wish we had known. Oh, well. Next time, I guess.

We heard from Joan. She is doing well aboard The Goose!

Tom went to the gym to use the stretching equipment. For him, that is great. The equipment the center has for that is good.

We returned to the Rv to have breakfast. We spent the rest of the time putting together  our trip to Washington with the Mellmans . Our printer finally works so we printed out the spreadsheets Jann made and looked them over. Tom then did the same thing with the trip west after the Alaskan trip. We also received information from Jann and Bill about a storage unit in California for the RV. We can't thank them enough for doing the research and making the reservation.
As we were doing this, I got an update from WIVB, Todd's station saying PM Trudeau closed the Canadian birder to non Canadians. I sent messages to Jann and Bill who had already heard. Then to Guy and Kathy, and Debra and John. We all hope the virus will  be gone before our departure dates from Ferndale, Washington to BC, Canada, to Alaska. With the severity of this Corona Virus, it is better to be safe than sorry. Many people are self quaranteening so as not to spread any virus they may have. It's highly contagious.

I called Jasmine at Fantasy Tours, but no changes have been made yet. We continued to work on the copies. Can't hurt to be organized.

I decided to work on some crafts.

WORKING ON THIS PIECE FOR A DINNER PARTY

SAW THIS PLAQUE AND LIKED THE SAYING

At 3:00, Tom and I went to the UPS store to return a cup phone holder that doesn't work in my jeep. We then met Margaret and Bob at Captain Freddies Seafood. Fresh Oysters! Delicious! Of course, I have the shells at home soaking so I can create with them. They were so good. Seeing Marg and Bob was great. It has been a whole year. I'm happy the virus didn't stop us from meeting. We always have a great time with them. To think, this friendship began in 2012 when we docked in Chesapeake City and I had on my Buffalo YC shirt. They are from Buffalo. Add boats and water, instant friends.

We chatted quite a while after eating. The restaurant was pretty empty. Relaxing.

On the way home , I was able to talk with Karl and Linda, Kathy and Guy, and Michael. Everyone is doing well but being aware of being careful with the virus thriving.
Today we texted with Chan and Michelle and spoke to Mom. We felt better after talking to everyone and knowing everyone was safe and doing their best to stay healthy.

Just before 8 we connected again. They told us the International Space Station was going to pass in the SW sky and disappear in the ENE sky. We watched it. So cool.

WHAT WE SAW MOVIN ISS.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

Watching it spin made us wish I grandkids were here. to watch with us. It was another highlight of the day.
