Yet, we are in Paradise. The sky is blue, the weather balmy, and the breeze refreshing. We do appreciate our moving home but I wish I was back in RI for now.
Tom is enjoying his life here and his breakfast outside.
WAITING FOR LUNCH, I THINK
THIS WAS BREAKFAST
THE FLORIDA STRAWBERRIES ARD BEAUTIFUL
WE HEARD FROM FRIENDS IN LONG KEY. HERE IS A VIEW OF OUTDOOR RESORTS: HEAVENLY
Our spot was straight down the middle which is the southern most point . The top of the view is actually south.
It is 2:00 pm and I have already spoken to Joan, Mom and Dad, Michael, and one of my former principals, Joan A. Connecting is so important to me one way or the other. We also spoke to Em's mom to see how everyone is doing in Grand Island, Buffalo NY. With this virus infecting so many people, everyone is staying out.
I finished writing out all our Easter Cards -3 weeks early. I won't mail them yet, soon, though.
Now , I think it is time for a bike ride.
Susan called us from her condo on the Gulf of Mexico in Marathon. She too is doing well and staying put. We talked about our great lunch and afternoon spent at the Dolphin Research Center.
i texted with Carol, Geri , Kathy, Geri , Chan and Linda. These days without one to one connections, these calls and texts keep our spirits high and hopeful.
After a long bike ride, I called Shirley and Kevin. We had hoped to get together in Sarasota or here but people are staying close to home and away from crowds with the virus still growing. We made plans to keep connected in case things change. Shirley like me feel safer here than traveling to RI right now.
The Florida Keys have told every non resident they have until Monday night at 6:00 pm. Now that is pretty specific. According to the report, even marinas and rv parks non resident people were told to leave.
A friend from home was trying to get to Ri. She said the traffic was incredible due to the fact that President Trudeau has told all Canadians to return home. The borders will be closing and who knows when they would be able to return. The same thing has been said about US citizens who are out of the country.
We spoke with Rick who is waiting for Jane to return from Aruba tonight.
Kathy and Guy went to Key West. They said it was a ghost town. The MM 0 monument was covered with a tarp and cordoned off. That is one way to keep tourists away.
KEY WEST IS A GHOST TOWN AND MM 0 MONUMENT IS UNDERCOVER: ALL NON FLORIDA RESIDENTS WERE TOLD TO LEAVE THE KEYS BY MONDAY NIGHT AT 6:00 PM
