Back to the race. We left at 5:10- I made sure Tom had two full coffees to get him through. We had no idea whatvwas open in KW.
THE PHOTO TOM WANTED
BREATHING
FINISHING
MEDAL IN HAND
The temp was 63 degrees with minimal wind.
The results are in. I came in 1st in my age group and 5th in the entire field of 103 men and women of all ages . I was the next to the oldest runner of all. What a title to have. Only one 70 year old man was older than me, and he must have walked from the looks of his time. Time 27:26.
When I first looked on line, it said I was second but that was because it was not by age group.
The course is flat. Nothing like running at home. Running around the park was good practice. Breathing was easy. And I did have on my running shoes only used for races. 😂.
After the race and being handed a medal, we went to Harpoon Harry's for an Omelette, rye toast and peanut butter.
On the way home we stopped at Winn Dixie in Big Pine. I shouldn't need groceries for awhile.
Casey and Rachelle stopped by to see how i made out at the race. So nice of them. Jay called to check in.
We connected with Sharon and Steph and hope to plan when Sharon will visit.
I stopped by the library fir a book and met Amber, a nursing student who is trying to work with her kids virtually and study herself. So tough.
Tom and I missed the resort movie tonight. We went to Florida Boys and sat outside to watch the Buccaneers play the Saints. Amber was there with her family.
We returned at 10. It was a nail biting game. I would love to see Brady vs Allen, Bucs vs Buffalo , in the Super Bowl. lol
