DAY 29: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2019: DESTINATION, CARTEGENA

Up at 6 for a quick run before showering and meeting for breakfast at 7:15. Yogurt parfait was perfect.
8:10 we were in the Provence Dining Room preparing to board the bus for the tour. I should say, unbeknownst to us, 3 buses. The first one took us from the ship to a tour bus stop. We disembarked that bus, only to get on the Hop on Hop off to visit the 14 stops on the loop. Well, it was pouring buckets so we stayed on the bus. Some areas  didn’t look that safe.
THE 14 STOP TOUR

SAN FELIPE CASTLE

The one place I would like to have seen was the old ruins of the fort/ castle very similar to the Castile in St. Augustine. But, we didn’t. We thought that bus, bus 2, would take us back to the ship but it didn’t. We were directed to a place under the red tent where the 3rd bus would return to the Island Princess. It was like going Tongans Museum where the way out is through the gift shop. We were led through a rain forest type area that turned out to be a mini zoo

with a gift shop to pass through then take bus 4 back to the ship. We had had enough of buses and chose to walk the 1/2 mile on the docks back to the ship. The guide told us only certain buses could get near the ship into the security zone — that is a good thing.

This tapestry is second best!

Another great dinner in the Provence dining room. Miriam and Huey sat with us. He was a New York detective and a marine for 33 years. He, Tom, and Rick got along very well and enjoyed sharing stories to the point that the wait staff was waiting for us to leave to clean up. Lol. Too many great stories and not enough time.
Next event, the Comedy show . Last comedian was fabulous, we are hoping for the same.

We listened to a very interesting violin duo playing all Beatles music. You can’t tell my mom I liked it through. I hated playing the violin. Sounds great but still don’t want to play the fiddle ! I’ll leave that to Grand daughter Morgan who plays beautifully. I was only taught ridiculous songs that made me not want to play. Go, Morgan! I’d rather listen to you.

8:30 a truly funny comedian entertained us. Tom and I then went to Lido deck for the dance party. Hated to do it but we stayed until 11:00. How will I get up in the morning? Lol😎
