I spoke with mom! She can read the paper after her eye surgery! Amazing! So exciting and happy for her and dad. I also talked with Michael to cat h up,on news at home. Great to talk to everyone.
After a shower and breakfast, GERI and I put together a make shift kitchen , dining, and living room in their house amidst the current kitchen renovation. It was fun making everything I to a livable area until the whole project is completed. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving! . Tonight’s relax and party aboard The Blue Goose with Gordon and JOAN. It’s going to be a fun night. We will miss them when they move to the lagoon in Valhala. Then, we will have to visit them by dinghy. It’s all good!!
After a quick trip to Publix, KMart and an ice coffee for Tom, I returned to the Rv for my afternoon of frustration.
The best part of the afternoon was making lunch for Ruth and Pat coming tomorrow from Key West and all the hörs d‘hoeves I was making to bring to The Goose tonight. That part was fun.
I spent my day calling Coach—Net and Cornerstone trying to figure out how to get our waterproof and clothes dryer fixed. Finding suitable, professional, trustworthy workers in this area is not easy. One company wanted $150 just for coming out and another§150 for the first hour then they would charge us by the half hour after that. They would be arriving after 5 pm. Think about that? How much work do you think will be done for $300 after 5 pm? I looked up the company on the web. 1/10 reviews was positive. I called the company myself. The person who answered said the service rep would be here in 60 minutes. It was already after 4:00pm. I cancelled the work order set up by Coach—net. After talking to this person for 5 minutes, I had a very uneasy feeling. He was not very coherent which set off my bells. High? Who knows? My gut told me this business after $300 was not going to fix our 2 issues. I called Coach Net to cancel and told them what happened: the service did not understand our problems.
I went to the office and found a business card from an RV mobile repair service. After talking to this man, Bill, for 2 minutes, I knew he understood exactly what we needed. He lives 20 minutes from us. He will return in December when we are gone, but set us up for an appointment in January. We can live with those 2 issues until then He and I had a long chat and he sounded legitimate. I felt better about knowing he could do the job. He has done work here many times. His reviews were all good. Let’s hope!
All of this took all day! At 5 we left for the Goose. What a great night. What a great time the 8 of us had.
A GREAT NIGHT, LOTS OF WINE AND HORS D‘HORVES, GOOD CONVERSATION AND FRIENDS
Tom said Nights like this make him miss our good times entertaining on the boat.
A plan to have brunch at Jaime and Peter‘s was made for Saturday morning. Let’s keep the party going. That day is also Bill‘s 80th birthday. Lots to celebrate.
BEAUTIFUL NIGHT
