DAY 84: SATURDAY, JANUARY 4, 2020: OUR FIRST FULL DAY IN LONG KEY

We both slept late. Our trip was long, but uneventful. At 8:15, I went for my run. It was a hard one.First of all, running outside after bronchitis and add to that going from a cold 30s temperature to a humid 77 degrees. It will take a while to adjust. Tomorrow will be easier.

After a shower I finished by unpacking. I’m done! Tom still has a way to go. I called Bonnie. I want to stop by today to bring a sweetbread. Linda called to say how much they are enjoying theirs. Grace called to invite us to dinner so we may decide on place settings for or yearly dinner event on Feb 14. I make the seating place holders. This is what I am thinking for this year:

ITS LIKE A MINI FISH BOWL WITH A FLOATING WATERPROOF LIGHT IN IT

Before all that, though, we rode our bikes to the rec center for lunch with Linda and Carl. We met Mary Kay and her husband. I spoke to Sylvia about ZUMBA and this week‘s   exercise classes as to what I  should bring. I’ll try the classes this coming week then Unwort have to drive to KCB but we will see how they are.  Linch was delicious: grilled chicken sandwiches and fries.

Shirley called while we were there. She sounds great. She loved the napkin rings we sent and her bracelet gift. We miss her in Bristol but we aren’t there either. At 82, and by herself since Hector‘s passing, she needs to be in the company of family. There is no one in Bristol for her other than Lisa and  us and neither of us is always home. Her cousins keep her super busy.

I spoke with Em for about 30 minutes. That is always enjoyable. We are all waiting for the Bills Texans Play-off NFL game today at 4:30. we thanked her for our Christmas gifts. Tom loves his shoes.

THIS IS A BIG JOKE WITH GORDON AND ME: ALL THE WAY DOWN ,EVERY RESTROOM HAD ONE OF THESE.
IT IS A JOKE BETWEEN THE 4 OF US BECAUSE GORDON ACTUALLY USED THEM— A good laugh!⛵️πŸ˜‚⛵️

At 3, I went to Bonnie‘s then to Walgreens and the grocery store. I hate Publix but needed fruit and veggies. Huge patches were in season— a favorite!
On my return trip, Joan and I began planning get togethers. She said Joan and Don want to bring their 42 Catalina into the lagoon. That will be fun. I’m looking forward to going to the sandbar to walk and swim.

OUR BEACH HERE. WE NEED TO ENJOY IT WHILE WE CAN

THE ITINERARY OF OUR COACH TRIP WITH MELLMANS, HANLEYS, DUETERMANNS AND OTHERS.

Over 4000 miles will be covered, but we need to get to WASHINGTON State first. I am sure my blogs will be more interesting then.

Daily I think about friends going through medical issues. Wishing Bob a positive outcome in St. AUGUSTINE, MM successful healing in Az, and Linda and Gerry in FLORIDA. Many prayers....πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ» As we have fun, they are not forgotten.
We are doing a lot , but thoughts of home are ever present. I’m happy the girls keep me on their text thread. 😘

We had a fabulous Taco dinner with Grace and Werner. Grace made blue curaΓ§ao margueritas. Delicious and a perfect match for the dinner. Lemon triangles were dessert. Seeing them and sharing ideas and conversation was great. We look forward to their dinner gala which never disappoints. Grace and I worked on the name place tags. I have enough ideas to work on this month. It being Valentines Day, there will be a lot of red and white flowing.
I’ll be making petit penguins out of a large and small olives, carrot slice, seasoned cream cheese dip, and red pepper slices. Photo will follow tomorrow.

We returned home at 10 to watch the Patriots play the playoff game against the Titans.  We will know in two hours if the Patriots move on to round 2. We hope!!🀞
