DAY 96: THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2020: MEETING SUSAN FOR LUNCH

Awake at 6:30 for a run. By 7:30 I was changing for the 8:00 step class. As usual, it was very good. In between, we used weights. 

Busy day today. Tom went to the stretch class while I got ready for the next event: Book Club.

The book everyone read was Educated by Tara Westover. 

The club members used a series of on line questions with one woman as a moderator reading the questions and guiding the discussion. It was excellent. We all went from exercising our bodies to exercising our minds. Lots of good insight and the many opinions of  all the members was eyeopening. 

Next month we will read and discuss: A Long Way Home. I already ordered my copy. Our next gathering is February 20th at 10:15. This resort has so much to offer. 

At 12:30 I drove to Key Colony Beach where I met Susan at Havana Jacks  for a delicious relaxing lunch where we were able to catch up on news. It has been nearly a year since we have seen each other so we had a year‘s worth of events to talk about. 

On the way back I stopped at the post office. Lots of treasures. Chan Sent us framed photos of the Kids. They traveled as much as we did: Texas to RI to Green Cove Springs to Long Key. The Package began its travels in December  and ending in Long Key in January. The photos were worth the wait.

I ordered a red dress for The Red Hat Society Tea in the resort and Valentines Day. It fits perfectly. I’m letting it hang to get most of the wrinkles out, then I will iron out the rest ( not my favorite thing but it may be necessary .


HAPPY VALENTINES DAY A MONTH AWAY

We heard from Linda who feels better and MM‘s family who said she is on the up side of healing. Amen. It’s been such a long road. 

We spoke to Jann and Bill. More reservations made. More plans solidified! Very exciting. As Part of the Trip, our RV s and Toad s will be traveling by ferry. Now that ought to be extremely fabulous. What an experience! I told Jann Tom has been looking up the websites of the places we are reserved for, he is ecstatic. Thank you, Jann and Bill. 

When I returned to the RV, Keys First RV Detailing was here washing and polishing the rig. It looks beautiful. They have a program where they will do the rig every few weeks for a fraction of the cost. Tom plans on signing up tomorrow. 

A woman named Glenda stopped by to introduce herself. She is renting the house across the street from us. Sh was feeling weak so we gave her water, had her sit, then I walked her home. Very nice woman. She and her husband will be great neighbors. We have mutual friends. 

Todd called , and we had an hour to catch up on the phone. He really enjoyed the meteorology conference. He told us about some of the outstanding conferences he attended and what he will take back with him. He is bringing a lot of firsts to WIVB. He saw his College Professor and his first boss from 

WLTX in SC. Plus, he was able to spend time with our family and stay at home. He visited BYC and sent us a photo.

I spoke with mom and dad. They were surprised and excited to see Todd at home. They don’t know herwillst be bringing his family to Moms 90th birthday in February. 

Joan texted, then called. We are trying to plan a day aboard The Goose and Mesmariah. The weather is not cooperating! A cold front is coming through. 

Since Mesmariah will be in the area for a week, we have to find at least one day!

Rick texted. Always great photos and cartoons. They really entertain us. 

We heard from my sisters, all of them . Sounds like the new exercise schedule at 426 is working out well. 

It was fun to see all the responses on FB from Shirley and Friends  who responded to JUDY and Michaels 30 th Anniversary . It was a special day!
